On this day in 1928, The Johnny Dodds Trio (Johnny Dodds, Lil Hardin-Armstrong, Bill Johnson) recorded “Blue Clarinet Stomp” and “Blue Piano Stomp” in Chicago for the OKeh label.

On this day in 1954, Elvis Presley, in his first session for Sam Phillips and Sun Records in Memphis, recorded “Blue Moon Of Kentucky” and “That’s Alright (Mama)“.

On this day in 1968, Promoter Bill Graham opened The Fillmore in San Francisco.
