On this day in Blues history for March 7th…

Not many people realize what an important figure Tampa Red was in the history of Chicago blues. Nearly every blues musician who migrated to Chicago from the South passed through his home. He often fed them, gave them a place to stay until they could find a place of their own, helped them find gigs, and hosted many amazing jam sessions. Well, on this day in 1950, Tampa Red recorded one of the many versions of his classic “You’ve Got to Love Her With a Feeling” for Victor Records.

Today’s show features music performed by Tampa Red
