At the time, Henderson and his orchestra were the House Band at Club Alabama on 44th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue in Manhattan.

On this day in 1965, Howland Wolf, backed by both Hubert Sumlin and Buddy Guy, recorded Don’t Laugh at Me. And it really wasn’t one of the wolf’s best recordings.
