On this day in Blues history for March 28th…

On this day in 1955, harmonica player Sammy Lewis made his recording debut for Sun Records in Memphis with “I Feel So Worried.”

Elvis Presley recorded his first big hit in that studio, “That’s Alright” It was a song written by bluesman Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup. On this day in 1974, Crudup passed away, never having received a single penny in royalties.

Just one of many similar sad stories.
