On this day in Blues history for March 18th…

On this day in 1935, Josh White, working under the name of Pinewood Tom, recorded “Sissy Man” in New York City. It contained the unforgettable lyric, “If you can’t send me a woman, send me a sissy man.”

Today is also the birthday in 1927 of Big Daddy Kinsey, a blues artist who fathered a whole band full of Kinsey’s, the Kinsey Report.

Today’s show features music performed by Josh White and Big Daddy Kinsey
